I am a full time husband and father. I also work full time in a pretty geeky, technical professional. While I love all these roles, they came along later in life. My first love was photography. For as long as I can remember I was always running around with a camera, whether at home or on family vacation. I still have the photos to prove it.
I have worked as a professional portrait and wedding photographer as well as owned my own studio with my wife. For other interests in, I have also written many article and have had many photographs published on the web, in magazine and on magazine covers.
After some down time with photography, I am returning back to it.
In Austin Kleon’s book Steal Like an Artist, he has a chapter titled “Side Projects and Hobbies are Important.” Directly quoting from the book, Austin says:
“If you have two or three real passions, don’t feel like you have to pick and choose between them. Don’t discard. Keep all your passions in your life.”

That is exactly what I am doing here. I have always loved photography, I love to write, and I love to help people. It seemed like letting these three things come together and talk to each made the most sense for me to do.
